Malaysia

Basic information

Most tourists can apply online via the e-Visa portal, submitting all required documentation digitally and receiving the visa electronically. For work, study, or other long-term purposes, a Visa With Reference (VDR) is typically required. This pathway demands prior approval from the Immigration Department of Malaysia, usually initiated by a sponsor or employer in Malaysia, before the applicant can formally submit their visa application to an embassy or authorized service center.
